MEET E.J. ANOSIKE
FIND YOUR PURPOSE.
IMPACT THE WORLD.
Born in New York yet making yearly trips to Nigeria with his mother, many of E.J.’s fondest childhood memories are from his time in the village of Okija, Anambra State, especially working as a welder’s apprentice for his uncle and at the market with his aunt. From a young age, watching his family honor their craftsmanship, E.J. felt immense pride in his heritage, so it’s no surprise that he sets his sights on ensuring support and resources for African children to realize their dreams, too.
Almost always smiling and certainly finding the good in every situation, E.J. realized long ago that his positive mindset is his greatest strength.
“A positive mindset is the reason I felt capable of creating two nonprofit organizations before the age of 25. It’s the reason I’ve unapologetically made space for myself in places that people like me weren’t seen. It’s the reason I’ve persevered on the court and in the business world when most people counted me out,” E.J. shared.
As the first Athlete Brand Ambassador for Overtime, living with the Ball family to train and promote the Big Baller Brand, and successfully completing multiple documentaries about African athletes returning home, E.J. has become a marketing leader, networking force, and well-respected public figure, carving a multidimensional path without limits.
As his platform continues to expand, reaching children and young men from all over the world, E.J. seeks to put his influence to great use, inspiring children to unlock their skills and talents and create fruitful futures. With plans to travel near and far, E.J. looks forward to hosting uplifting events to connect the youth, inspire hope, and impart the wisdom he’s gained as a professional athlete, thought leader, and world changer. Tapping into his gifts, knowledge, and network to bless others is E.J.’s ministry, reinforcing the undisputable fact that he is, indeed, more than an athlete.
